Oval shaped make-up brush

Hello worldddd. Ni-Hao ma..

Soooo todayyy I wanna talk about this oval shaped brush that you probably have seen all over instagram make-up accounts. I’ve been using this brush now for about a month and it feels good now to give my opinion about this toothbrush looking make-up brush.

Now to begin with… the original oval shaped brushes are from a brand called Artis. ( ) These brushes are very pricy in my opinion since I buy my brushes for like €20,- a set. The Artis brushes are in different sizes and shapes so you do have a good arrangement in that but since I’m a broke ass student I’m not gonna spend so much on a damn make-up brush. I love make-up but I gotta keep it realistic fam lool =(

So badumm tsss I actually bought a dupe from China. I bought this brush for €2,27,- and there were no shipping costs added. ( ) If you’re considering buying this make-up brush from here then you must swipe out all of the dust in the brush when it arrives and clean it well. Shipping can take around 3-4 weeks.

Alright let’s not talk about my chipping nails plus I didn’t washed the make-up brush I’m sorry kay merp.

As you can see according to the picture it’s smaller then a normal foundation brush. In my opinion it’s a perfect size for a foundation brush because who needs a brush that covers your whole face. You can get in every corner with this brush since it’s not too big. Feels very nice in your hands when you’re using it since there is arch in it.

Now.. the Oval shaped brushes are kinda made to applicate make-up by yourself. Normal make-up brushes just have a straight handle to apply make-up on other people. I have to say that it does feel more comfortable applying my foundation with this brush then my normal make-up brush.

Also because of the hairs from the make-up brush are very dense you won’t loose a lot of product in the make-up brush which is saving and you will get a nice and good coverage.
It’s very smooth to use. Just gently swipe it on your face with the foundation.

Overall I have no complains about the make-up brush. I only use it to apply foundation so I can’t give my opinion about using it for a powder but you can use it for that as well.
I’m satisfied with the brush, I think it’s it’s a good quality for the price. We all know it’s not gonna be smooth like the original Artis brushes but this is a cheap solution if you don’t wanna spend a lot of money like me.

Review: Revolution Ultra Blush and Contour Palette Golden Sugar

Supppp lovess!
Today I’m gonna give you guys a review on the Revolution Ultra Blush and Contour Palette Golden Sugar.

The brand make-up Revolution is an english brand and sells really affordable make-up. Perfect if you don’t wanna spend too money on make-up but still want a nice quality.

I got my palette from well.. actually it was a birthday gift from a friend of mine but I told her where to get it hahaha 😦
The palette itself is €7,99 (+ €2,95 shipping costs in The Netherlands) which is a very good price for a palette with 8 shades in my opinion. According to their site the palette has bronzers, merged blushers, baked bronzer and 2 merged baked highlighters. The palette got 13 gr of product. The packaging is plastic but it nice and sturdy, simple but modern design. The palette has a full size mirror in it which is very nice, especially for such a low price, you can’t really beat that.

Here is the palette and swatches:

(Photos are taken with natural light and are not edited in their colours)

So I find this palette more of a highlight and contour palette.. not so much of a blush and contour palette. 7 out of 8 shades are shimmery. Also the pink shades in this palette may look a nice decent pink in the swatches but once you blend them out you barely see something back from the pink colour. Some shades won’t even show up once I blended them (8 + 5 for example). If you wanna use this palette for their blushes and you’re medium tanned like me then I wouldn’t recommend this palette. There are more pigmented and less shimmering blushes out there.

However.. This palette is perfect for highlighting You basically get all kinds of highlighters in different tones and colours which is super handy to build up your highlight how you want it to be. In highlights this palette is good for all skin colours. There is 1 matte bronzer colour in it which is more for a light skin coloured person. It won’t show up on my skin (8).

The shades do stay nice on the skin throughout the day. Beautiful to build up the colours but do kinda crumble in the packaging so there will be shimmers all over your hand while you used it. Low price range and you get overall a good and lovely functional product. Don’t wanna spend a lot of money but still wanna glow like a golden statue then this is your palette.

Love x

Highlighters that I use

Whatssss goooodd lovely people.
I know I’m late with saying it on my blog but happy 2k16!

So in this blogpost I wanna talk about the highlighters that I use to look like a majestic unicorn and to glo away from the haters.. alright I’m just kidding but I know that highlighters are very populair and I wanna share my experience with good highlighters.

I wanna mention that I titled this post as ‘The highlighters that I use’ because I own more highlighters then what I’m gonna show you but I use those less since I’m not a big fan of those. These are the highlights that I actually use and really like.

Here are the highlighters that I use:
highlighters 1.2

  1. M.A.C. – Soft & Gentle
  2. Kiko Milano – 02 Beam of light
  3. BECCA – Opal
  4. NYX – LI01 Sunbeam (liquid)
  5. BECCA – Opal (liquid)

Kiko Milano – 208 Light Gold (Water eyeshadow)

When I really want a strong highlight I always apply 2 different highlights on to each other. This is mainly because some highlighters can leave an icy finish when applied. Since I’m tan I don’t like the icy finish and will use a more golden highlight on top of it to reduce the icy look. If you have a medium coloured skin with a yellow undertone like me then these will suit you.

The liquid highlighters are most of the time my base for under my actually highlight(s). Since it is a little bit sticky the powder will stick to it and won’t come off throughout the day.

Swatches from the highlights:

highlighters 2.3

(Photo’s are not edited and taken with natural light)

The parts that I highlight in my face are: my cheekbones, on my browbones and the center of my nose. For my browbones and nose I use: 2 and 6. Combinations that I use for my cheekbones: 5-3-(6),  4-1-6, 4-2-6 or I use them separate and just one highlight.

Overall I’m very satisfied with these products. Good amount of product and you need a little bit to see result. Not a very high price range.Oh and yes I actually use an eyeshadow as a highlight. It works for me and if someone says you can’t use an eyeshadow as highlight.. don’t listen to them and work that eyeshadow.

I hope this was helpful and that you can now glo like a majestic kinda icy unicorn. And if you wanna be icy, be icy. You wanna glo like a gold statue, do that.

Review: Urban Decay De-Slick make-up setting spray, Oil-control

Another review, let’s goooo
So as the title it says.. this is a review about the Urban Decay make-up setting spray, oil control. This setting spray is made for people who get oily throughout the day (your T-zone). Since I’m a walking frying pan I’m always on the hunt for products that will reduce my oil.

I bought the Urban Decay setting spray at Ici Paris xl in Rotterdam for around €15,- (the product is normally around €25 but I had a coupon)
You can also buy Urban Decay on the Ici Paris xl website ( ). The product contains 118 ml / 4.0 fl oz. which will last some time since you don’t need much of it.

I use the spray after I’m done with my make-up.The bottle has a spray pump to apply it to the face (don’t spray it very close on the face, keep distant when you spray it). It feels refreshing and it dries up quickly. It’s not a heavy spray and eventually it feels like you don’t even have it on. Also, it doesn’t have a chemical smell to it. If you’re familiair with the Kiko setting spray you know how a chemical spray smells like. If you use the Kiko setting spray or a M.A.C. fix+ you will definitely see a difference. You can tell that the Urban Decay spray is really made for people with oily skin and not just a setting spray.

The spray does control the oil in my T-zone but not the whole day. My experience with it is that it does kinda reduce my oil production in my t-zone but of course in the end of the day I’m still oily. When I put it on, 7:00 a.m. I will get oily around 2:00-3:00 p.m. normally I will get oily
around 11:00 a.m. already. I still use blotting papers to reduce the oil but just later on the day.

I think it is worth the money. You get a good amount of product and it will help the oils in your face. If you’re fine with blotting papers and powder and you’re not that heavy oily, I would stick with that. I just wanna say that this oil-control setting spray will keep my oils away for a more couple of hours but it will not make it go way. This is my experience with it. Every person has a different skin type and can react different to it. Know that I can not guarantee any improvements.

I hope this review was helpful and for my oily people out there, stay matteeeeee

Here is the product description from Urban Decay if you’re interested:

Oily skin has met its match! Mist on this weightless spray to control oil, deflect surface shine and help makeup stay put. Meet your most powerful oil-control ally. De-Slick mists on weightlessly to control oil, deflect surface shine and keep skin looking beautifully matte. High-tech ingredients help keep foundation, shadow and blush from smudging, sliding or fading – so you hardly ever need to touch up.

Developed in an exclusive partnership with SKINDINÄVIA, this groundbreaking, clinically tested formula features patented Temperature Control Technology. Yep, this baby actually lowers the temperature of your makeup to help it stay put and keep skin looking smooth (but never shiny).

In a 7-day clinical study:

• 100% of participants said De-Slick helped prevent makeup meltdown.
• Over 90% said their makeup looked less shiny, didn’t slide and rarely needed to be touched up.
• 85% said De-Slick is the longest-lasting oil-control product they’ve ever used.

This breakthrough formula comes in a soft-touch bottle and features a gorgeously illustrated decoration. Unlike similar products on the market, the sprayer delivers a microfine mist that goes on so light, you’ll hardly feel it – and once you’ve applied it, you won’t even know it’s there. If you’ve tried other setting sprays that feel sticky or tight on your skin, you’ll be AMAZED by how different this is. Beware of imitations!

Review: BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector – Opal Glow On To Go collection

Long time no new blogpost. I’m really bad at keeping this blog running since I don’t have a proper camera to take pictures with and that is kinda holding me back from posting things but here is another review.

About the brand: BECCA cosmetics is a brand that lays his focus on make-up for the skin. Foundations, blushes, highlighters, concealers. Since it is not so easy to get in The Netherlands is it not so populair (yet) but in other countries BECCA is very populair for their highlighters.

If you wanna know more about the brand and the founder, I suggest you to go to the website.

“The whole philosophy of BECCA is about creating a natural, flawless look. It’s really about skin looking amazing – everything else is secondary.”
– Rebecca Morrice Williams, Founder

The products that I have from BECCA are:
Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed Opal Net Wt. 2.40 gr/0.085 Oz.
Shimmering Skin Perfector Spotlight Opal Net Wt. 5 gr/0.17 Fl.Oz.
These two came in a kit and are mini sizes from the actual products from BECCA. I bought the kit from and it retails for €18,26 (+ €7,49 shipping costs to The Netherlands, it arrived in 3 weeks). Great value for the price I would say. It seems not much but you use very little from the products when you use it and if you already have more highlighters this is great to switch it of with your other highlighter.

I used the products together to highlight my cheekbones. First I applied the liquid Opal and on top of that I used the pressed Opal.

The products are definitely worth the money and are gorgeous on the skin.
Very easy to use. The colour is a champagne colour. The liquid Opal isn’t that sticky but sticky enough that the powder will stay on when you apply it. You need a really tiny bit to see result, which is great. The pressed Opal is also easy to apply, doesn’t crumble and you don’t need much of it. It also doesn’t give that icy finish like some other highlighters do. You can also use the products separated but I like to use them together for extra effect, it is really up to you how strong you want it and how you like it.

How it looks on the skin:

Right = with flash

Here is how it looks like on me when I applied it:
(I also contoured in the pictures which can result to a stronger effect. Photo’s are not edited and taken with natural light)

I would recommend this kit from BECCA to others. If you use a tiny bit like it’s needed you can last some time with it. Since I do have other highlighters and wanna try out other brands I wouldn’t buy the full sizes but if you’re looking for a good highlighter and are willing to pay for it, this is a very good one!

If you’re Dutch you can buy BECCA on or import it from the U.S.A but they can add duty fees on that.

I hope you liked this review and I’m gonna try to post more.

Review: Ben Nye powders, Banana & Neutral

Hi you all!

Since the famous Ben Nye powders are getting trending in my country and there are a lot of dupes in the making of this powder, I would like to give you guys my honest opinion about the Ben Nye powders and my experience.

Short introduce: The Ben Nye powders are created by Benjamin Emmet Nye senior and are a part of the Ben Nye Makeup Company. Ben Nye make-up is very populair in the film and theater industries. Ben Nye is already known under the make-up artists but now it is getting populair by day under the non make-up artists as well. This is also because the make-up artist from Kim Kardashian revealed this beauty secret for the famous contouring and highlighting from Kim Kardashian.

ben nye 2

The Ben Nye powders that I bought are the: Ben Nye Luxury Powder, Banana and the Ben Nye Classic Translucent Face Powder, Neutral ( both 1.5oz/42 gr. )

Since I’m asian I have a yellow to red undertone in my skin. This is why I choose Banana.
The Neutral set is always handy to have and it was save for if Banana didn’t suit me.
Here are the swatches:

Left without flash:

Neutral slightly swept

Neutral 1 sweep

Right with flash:

Neutral 1 sweep

I use my Banana powder for under my eyes where I applied my concealer. I use the Neutral powder for all over my face, especially in my oily zones.
ben nye 3
The powders are definitely famous for his reason. The powders are very fine and easy to apply on the face. The Neutral powder is literally colorless and doesn’t leave white stains. The Banana powder gives that nice highlight with yellow undertone for under my eyes. The yellow isn’t really yellow guys don’t worry, it fades nicely into your skin. The powder is lightweight on the skin and stays on for the whole day. I’m a veryyyyy oily person and I’m not gonna lie THIS is my solution for oily skin.It actually keeps my skin matte for the whole day without using blotting paper. I highly recommend this powder if you’re an oily person like me.
My skin looked matte the whole day. It is worth your money and you get a lot of product. (normal powders have like 12 gr. (MA.C.))

The Ben Nye powders are 1.5oz/42 gr. and I paid €13,21 (Banana) & €6,17 (Neutral). I ordered these from
If you live in The Netherlands like me, this is a great site to order Ben Nye Makeup from. They ship very fast for only €8,-
It took like a week to come here. If you’re Dutch I do wanna say that when they send it to you, the package can end up at your local post office like mine, so you have to pick it up, they didn’t delivered it to my house. Also, stay under the value of €22,- excluding shipping if you don’t wanna pay duty fees!
You can also buy the Ben Nye powders in Rotterdam (Chique Cosmetics ) & Amsterdam (Back Stage ) but these will cost a lot more (€24,- to around €40,- depends on the size that you get)

I hope this review was help full for you guys and that you enjoyed it.
